Forest School Growing and Eating

Growing and Eating

We love our rural environment as much as we do our amazing food! So, it won't be a surprise to you that we grow some of our own fruit and vegetables.

Each year children plant a range of vegetables in our back vegetable garden. This year the children chose to plant potatoes, tomatoes, beans and radishes.  They have now dug up their crop of potatoes, and have proudly presented them to the cook to be used in their lunch!  They also pick raspberries, strawberries and apples from the vegetable garden, and we learn how to tell when they are ready.

We also have a local allotment which supplies us with other vegetables and fruit.  All organic of course!
